Press Release: For Immediate Release USA RELEASE: RESTAURANTS UNLIMITED LAUNCHES VISIBLE RESULTS LOYALTY CARD PROGRAM IN HAWAIIKANSAS CITY, Kan. (10/24/02) -- Visible Results today announced the public launch of a pilot loyalty card program at three locations operated by Restaurants Unlimited in Hawaii. Through the pilot, the program is initially being offered in the company¡¯s Palomino Restaurant, Kincaid¡¯s Fish, Chop and Steak House, and Ryan¡¯s Grill locations in Honolulu. Ryan¡¯s is an original concept developed specifically by Restaurants Unlimited for the Hawaiian market. The pilot is expected to ultimately be followed by a rollout of the program in the remainder of the Seattle-based company¡¯s mainland U.S. restaurants. Restaurants Unlimited currently operates 26 locations under its various brands in 13 states. The program, which has been in a ¡°soft launch¡± staff preparation and training phase in the three locations since September 30th, is based on the on the revolutionary GraphiCard¢â loyalty technology and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system from Visible Results USA, an Overland Park, Kan.-based subsidiary of the Visible Results Group of Companies of Auckland, New Zealand. With the patented technology, program members¡¯ cards are inserted into a smart point-of-sale terminal during each sales transaction. A cutting-edge thermo-chromic process enables the front of the card to display points garnered through the most recent purchase, along with other personalized data designed to pique consumers¡¯ interest. Such data--which is customized for each client--can include highly targeted offers, details of special promotions and sales, advertising messages, particulars of instant win games, and more. The terminal immediately prints out customized coupons and similar incentives as transactions are completed. A re-writeable magnetic strip incorporated into the back of the card stores specific data about transactions as they occur. It also enables the back of the card to be re-written every time it is presented, turning it into a self-contained database that eliminates extensive, costly systems integration while encouraging repeated use and customer loyalty. Under Restaurants Unlimited¡¯s program in Hawaii, each location issues a custom-designed GraphiCard¢â to identify customers every time they dine. Members accrue one point for every dollar they spend and receive instant points statements and messages through the card¡¯s unique thermal screen. Cards may be used in any of the three restaurants, and members may redeem their points for dining certificates, movie and dinner packs, or two exclusive deals: a chef¡¯s dinner for four people, prepared in their home, or a ¡°progressive dinner¡± featuring limousine service to each of the three restaurants. During the pilot, Restaurants Unlimited¦¡ whose Hawaiian locations collectively serve more than 7,000 diners per week¦¡plans to utilize Visible Results¡¯ CRM capabilities to improve its understanding of customers¡¯ dining habits. This will include the amount of cross-traffic between restaurants and the frequency with which key customers eat out. ¡°We are very excited about this program,¡± said Tanya Phillips, General Manager of Ryan¡¯s Grill. ¡°It provides us with the opportunity to integrate all of the promotions we run on one marketing platform, and to really measure the results of all of our marketing efforts on an individual basis.
