BLOCKBUSTER LICENSEE OFFERS NEW BREED OF LOYALTY CARD - July 16 2002 - Executive Technology - www.executivetechnology.com

JSM Entertainment Limited here, a licensee of Blockbuster video stores, has introduced a new customer loyalty card that features a changing graphical display. In the retailer's 24 New Zealand locations, a point-of-sale device uses thermo-chromic technology to alter the information presented on the front of the card after each transaction. Since the program was introduced last month, JSM's Blockbuster loyalty cards have displayed the current number of loyalty points that a customer has earned, as well as an "instant win game" that offers shoppers the chance to win a variety of prizes. Also, on the back of each card is a rewritable magnetic stripe that contains the latest transactional information for each customer.
